JK Alternator... who knows how they interact with the computer?

Okay... Need some info...

So, I have a MOBI-ARC on board welder on my '05 LJ, that ties into the alternator. It's pretty easy install, but throws a "check gauges" light on the LJ because of the volt gauge not seeing 'exactly' what it needs to see. No problem, as I'm selling the LJ... but thinking to move the Mobi Arc to the JK rather than buying a $1200 suitcase welder.

Mobi-Arc (Perfect Switch) has been disco'd for a loooong time, but I've emailed one of the owners to see about compatibility with my 2015 JKUR. He's not a whole lot of help as he's often out of town and busy, with little support on a sunsetted product.

My question is (for the electrical gurus);
Does the 2015 alternator on the 3.6L work the same way as on the 2005 4.0L? Meaning, is the computer controlling the voltage rather than the alternator sensing via a voltage regulator?

If there's a YES to that question, it'll enable me to pull the welder from the LJ and use it on my JK.

Here's some documentation on the welder;

Yes, the JK alternator is computer controlled. Based on the install sheet, it looks like you disconnect the Jeep computer from the alternator so I'm not 100% sure it wouldn't throw a code. I am not sure how the Jeep computer is ensuring that the alternator is doing as asked.
This is the problem, with the computer... on any 'computer controlled alternators' rather than on board alternator voltage regulators.

I decided to just pull the trigger on the Karnage suit case welder. This way, I can take the welder with me anywhere, and not have it bound to one vehicle. Nor do I have to move the vehicle to where I have to weld. Easy decision once I thought about it.
