Hi folks

It hard to be upset about power door locks as they are a luxury item but I have never in 40 years + seen a vehicle have its actuators die nor known anyone who has.

Browsing the interwebs I find that this is a common issue in JK jeeps.

I was happy that I found a post here delineating the correct sequence of removal of the actuator as YouTubers in there kindhearted zeal left out necessary steps for removal in every vid I found. The point they leave out is the 8mm nut on the door handle. Its all good though as I have gotten really lax on swearing practice of late. Being old and half blind doesn't help.

So not being a lectrical guru and recalling that the passenger door and possibly tailgate actuators were acting sluggish before they quit I figured there has to be a quick and dirty way to feed power to the part I removed in order to bypass all other components as a possible contributing factor.

Four pins so does anyone know whats ground and what is lock and unlock? Also did Magnetti Marelli in their quest to make a piece of junk opt to use 12VDC or some esoteric voltage based on a chicken sacrifice?

less than 50 k kms and out of warranty. This never happened on my TJ. I really miss it today. In fact nothing ever broke on it in 300k kms and 9 yrs.

Oh and the washer reservoir grommet leaks now and the rear window washer leaks. What more fun is lurking I wonder.

Gotta fix the power lock button on wife's JKU, but I don't miss power locks or windows, I love the basic manual controls of my TJ and CJ's, they're nice and all to have, but not so much work to fix or cost of the electric components, especially today's vehicles.
