I'm not smart enough to figure out how to post pics and comment in the same post so pardon the double post.
When I saw the first pics of the JLU I thought some of the lines looked familiar.
I visit Expedition Portal frequently and threads for other 4x4 just to see whats going on. After looking at the pics of the G Wagon I can see similar lines on the hood that carries down the length of the each vehicle under the side windows.
With the increase windshield rake, vent near front tire on the JLU and G Wagon, the JLU looks to be showing more European lines then previous Jeeps.

The JLU lines are "not my cup of tea" as I prefer the traditional "American Jeep" look.

just my two cents.

I don't see it....... G-Class looks more like a Land Rover than the JLU pictured. For me, the only negatives are the front fenders with the turn signals and lights, as well as that ugly front bumper.

I'm guessing the bumper will be an easy swap out, but it'll be interesting to see how the aftermarket guys deal with the front fenders.

All joking aside... nope, don't see it. Dimensions, lines, interior, all very different. Specially when you see them side by side.

No where in my post did I mention interior or dimensions.

Just the front tire vent and the lines from the hood thru the upper portion of the doors.

 

I totally get it... the slope of the windshield and general lines around the side windows.

I keep hoping those lines below the windows on the JL are a teaser that factory steel half doors will be coming.

 

From the front quartering angles shown in the pics, I get it. Similar lines are eye catching and appealing. Looks very classy in white. I’m sure my wife would love it...
