So who has done a ball joint delete and how did it affect your ride & handling?

I keep seeing the people who make these say they don't recommend them for an on road rig. Check out the pirate4x4 group on Facebook.

If you want something similarly rebuildable for on road, I think Dynatrac might be the only option.

Did you already eat thru those TF units? The dynatrac joints are so very similar to those delete kits....once you press the cups in there that's it...uses those same kind of spherical bearings....

I'm not sure I see any advantage to this delete system. Can someone explain.
It looks to me anyway, like there is still some kind of swivel system in the cap of these things (you can see it at 47 seconds into the above video). That being the case one would figure them to wear out after time just like a ball joint.

They're supposed to replicate the strength of a kingpin in a ball joint axle. Most of these kits use silicon bronze bushings to allow the wheels to turn and they should last a while provided you keep them greased. Kingpins also wear out given enough use. Like I said earlier, I wouldn't do this on a vehicle unless you knew you really needed that extra strength. Ball joints will give you better on-road performance anyway and there are options that are more than strong enough for most jeepers. Sure if you have huge tires and bash against the rocks and can't make your ball joints last then this might be something to do.
