Remember that the NSG370 is a medium duty truck transmission...not a getrag. That said...you should not expect it to be as quiet and smooth nor should you try to shift it as fast. My 6 speed along with the few others I have driven are loud and notchy...you may be noticing a gear whine noise when you pass a certain rpm range (especially in 3rd gear) or a kind of rumbling sound especially if you lug the engine a bit and introduce additional vibration. Completely normal and nothing to worry about.

As far as the clutch grabbing...that sounds like a seperate issue you should get checked out.

2012 manual transmission problem

Well the transmission demon hit me in a strange kind of way. I had an issue with it jumping out of four right after a shift occasionally. The big issue that led me to the dealer was the fact that it starting a bad gear grind going into 6th. The dealer stated that if 70% of the parts in the tyranny are bad it will be replaced, if less than that is needed for the repair they will just fix the old one. Also I noticed that the throw out bearing starting to sound bad while sitting still you could hear it until the slack was taken out of the clutch and the noise goes away. Its just my opinion but the syncros in the transmission seem to bad for 6th gear. I have had mine for over a year now and have 33,000 miles on it (lots of travel) the only other issue I have had with it was the power steering going out about 2 months after i got it. Hope I Don't end up with a expensive lemon, cause i Love the jeep.:firedevil:

Tranny Problem?

Hey JnR, I also have a 2012 Wrangler, Rubicon, six speed AND have tranny issues.
I purchased it used at 15K and noticed every now and then it would grind only in to 4th. gear. I've had it about a year now and the grinding has gotten progressively worse as well as it jumping out of 4th. gear while accelerating. I took it to my dealership for repair and they said it was the shift kit and boot. They were supposed to have replaced those parts however, the problem is still the same, maybe even a little worse. Yesterday I took it back to the dealership and the owner (a very good friend and one who I'm sure will remedy the problem), rode with me and in less than two miles it ground into and out of 4th. gear six times. I knew when the tech guys drove it they would encounter no problems....Anyway the owner of the dealership now knows there IS a problem. We are not alone with this transmission issue as there are many threads concerning the exact same problem. Various outcomes have been posted from the "shift kit and boot" replacement to synchronizer's and even a complete transmission replacement. I doubt if I get my Jeep back today but I will keep the Forum advised of what has been done. By the way, my throw-out bearing also makes noise which I don't think is the problem since it seems to be only with 4th. gear AND it also has a rattling noise while driving in 4th. gear.....
