No more V-6 with an automatic?

Just read (an unsubstantiated rumor, maybe?) that the 3.6 will only come with a manual transmission starting next year...
Anyone else hear that?
Reasons could be an effort to push the electric motor assisted, or purely battery powered versions, on the marketplace with the "cherry on top" lure of the only way to get the popular option of an automatic transmission.

If you go to the jeep order pages for 2025. You can see it yourself. Last i looked it was true. They why; most people say is do to sales of 2024 falling flat. To many on the lots and no buyers. So they make up a false flag. Get your 2024 the last of the auto 3.6. or is it? Sales of manuals are low, this about shuts down the line. The whole issue with the clutches failing, now unknown fires are being looked into....3/4 of a million jeeps affected Jls why? unknown right now.

There are a couple of threads discussing it.

Likely was announced in a press kit because car and driver and motor trend have both already written short pieces about.

No explanation given but my assumption is Cafe standard driven pushing people toward the more efficient 2.0T and/or phase out of the Pentastar for the upcoming additional Hurricane motors.

CAFE standards are likely a piece of the puzzle true. To me it seems more about clearing existing inventory in dealer lots. Did anyone also notice there’s only 5 or 6 color options available at the moment. Further limiting choices. Imo…to again lead customers to dealer lots. More colors to be available at a later date I’m sure

Actually 8 colors including two "new" 41' and Fathom Blue vs 10 colors previously.

They eliminated Earl, Silver Zenith, and the limited edition Tuscadero plus 41' replaced Sarge.

You're not wrong that they usually add colors later, but I don't buy the "this is to move 24's" argument. I think they're doing what they're doing on powertrains and we can all just get in line or not.

But I also think the majority of the buying public doesn't know or care about the difference between a NA port injected V6 vs a DI 2.0T.
