Hey, I have a 2012 JK Wrangler sport with 65000 miles. A month ago the engine light came on and we retrieved codes which stated that the oil pressure sensor was not working properly. We had a mechanic replace it, when we picked up jeep we drove it for 10 mins before light came on and engine went into limp mode...We have replced the sensor 3x in the last month with the same results. The car goes into limp mode, pull over, restart car and dont go over so many rpms and car drives..go over te rpms (not sure how many, but vey low) and car goes back into limp mode.

Has anyone had this issue before? heard of anyone having this issue? know what the fix was? any advice would be great! Thanks, Jim Btw, I am on Long Island if anyone knows of a good shop who would be able to resolve this issue for me...

Disconnect both terminals of your battery. Hold them together for 30 seconds. This will clear all codes and "reboot" your ECU. Replacing the same sensor 3x is clearly not the issue. Are you certain the codes were cleared each time you had work done? Clear the codes via the battery disconnect and drive. When it happens again, read the codes then. I'd bet something else pops up in the oil pump related area.

what was the code? I had a wiring problem with both of my sensors under the intake...oil pressure and oil temp. depending on the code it could be saying that the oil pump is not going into high pressure mode like it is supposed to when it gets over 3500 rpm. really need to know the code.

on a side note if the mechanic replaced it 3 times....find a new mechanic cuz he is not diagnosing anything!!

I am having the same issue!! My code is PO6DD I already changed the sensor so it’s not that.

Sorry for the delayed response. The p06dd is what I had. It means the oil pump is not switching between low and high pressure. I had to replace the oil pump...actually the solenoid on the pump but since in there might as well do the whole thing. Was one of the few times I paid a shop to do work for me...was $700.

How is the jeep running. I am on my 3rd sensor in 9 months. Any luck on your fix? Please let me know. Mine won’t pass inspection on Pa.
