OME 2949 or 2942 rear springs?

Going to be replacing the rear springs on my TJ. I do have a fairly heavy TJ with a 33" tire and tire carrier bumper as well as a hardtop and full doors. I am looking at either the 2942 or 2949 OME springs. I know that the 2949 springs are for the LJ but have a stiffer spring rate that the 2942. Just kind of wondering how much lift I can expect to get from each and if anyone has any suggestions as to which direction to go. I plan to call Dirk on Monday and speak with him but just wanted to get the community's thoughts on the issue, before talking to him.

Thanks for the help.

it will depend on the year/ model of your TJ, the general consensus is though the part numbers are different the spring height is the same for a model year. BUT if you have a 1998 Sahara and install 2006 Rubicon springs or LJ springs there is a small height difference 1/2 - 1" maybe if any. I installed MOOG springs (3227rear/3226front these are MOOG # for a rubi/LJ) on a 1998 Sahara didn't even notice any great lift(my spring were shot and 1" lift I attribute to the older spring sag). if dad did not have these springs laying around we would have use OME heavy duty spring with their shocks. they would account for any after market equipment front or rear.

LJ coils fit just fine on a TJ. What matters is the sprung weight of the vehicle against the length and rate of the coils to produce the desired ride height. If you know your weights, this can be calculated with a high degree of accuracy.

I ran 949s on my TJ for a couple years. They gave me right around 2" in the rear with my heavy carrier and 33" spare.
