OME HD springs?

Question for those that install OME 2" lift HD springs. My Jeep LJ has the factory springs with a 2" Skyjacker spacer lift front and rear with Skyjacker Nitro 8000 shocks. I just bought some new OME front and rear HD 2" lift springs (haven't installed them yet). The front end is sitting 2" lower then the rear. I have ARB front and rear bumpersw and a 10k steel cable winch. Has anybody just put OME HD srings in the front and left the factory ones in the rear. Should I do OME HD springs front and rear and just put the 2" front spring spacer back in? How much lift is to much for stock track bars? I just want a level Jeep when I done, I don't really wheel it so a big lift isn't something I'm going for.

I would just do the new springs without spacers... they should be stiffer and able to handle the weight up front better. I definitely wouldn't add your 2" spacers to the new 2" springs unless you are ready for a full suspension overhaul.

For 2" lift you can probably get away with stock trackbars. Try and see how it is. If needed you can add rear trackbar relocation bracket then adj front.

Slightly off topic, but I'm surprised you're running 35s with just 2" BB spacers. I know you said you don't off-road it, but any issues so far? It looks good! Love the LJs.

The 35's are on 15x8" Mamba wheels with 4.5" BS. I had to add a wash behind the steeering bump stops. But no problems other then the bump stops.

No the winch isn't coming off. I use it for our things.

correction! I'm running 33's on my LJ not 35's. I have 35's on my JK. Don't know WTF I was thinking.

Put the springs on and add 1" spacers up front. I do that on all of my Jeeps. Replace those stiff Skycrapper nitro shocks too and it will ride like a new Jeep.

What shocks are you saying I should buy?

Doesn’t really answer your questions, but here’s an LJ with OME HD springs front and rear on 33s. I’d have to look up the actual part numbers at home. Front and rear bumpers add about an extra 50 lbs each on it and the winch on the front with steel cable weighs about 80 lbs I think. Mine came out pretty level and I was concerned the front would sag. I was prepared to add some spacers if needed but in my case they were unnecessary. That said I experimented with stock and 3/4 inch spacers front and rear. Probably pulled the springs 4 times after install to swap spacers around until I settled on none at either end. I think there is some combination of spacers in the picture because that was taken before the final fine tuning.

In my case I also replaced control arms, track bars, extended disconnects, shocks, tweaked bump stops etc but I was planning with potentially moving to 35s in the future. So I can’t answer about needing to or not. I came out with about 2” lift in the front and 1.5 in back .

Not sure where you got your OME coils from, but there are multiple options to suit certain requirements for extra weight. When you say "HD", that could be a couple of different things.
One of the most common mistakes I see with OME suspensions is not matching the coils correctly to the application.

If you want to contact me before installing, I can help you decide if the coils you have are the right one's and what spacers you might need for leveling, depending on the stance you want, etc.
If they aren't the best one's for the application, it's hard to return them after they've been installed...

I just installed the OME lift and mine sits 2 1/2" higher in the rear now? I even added a 3/4" spacer to the front. Front springs are Old Man Emu Part #: 2933 (1 1/2" HD springs) and rears are Old Man Emu Part #: 2942 (2" Medium-Heavy Load springs)

2933/2942 combo is designed to sit with some rake. Your bumper (and winch?) combo up front is reducing the lift you have, exaggerating the rake.

If you're running a winch as well, I agree that the 2934 coils would have been the better choice, although a certain amount of spacer would likely still be required depending on desired stance.
2934's sit about 3" or more on a stock jeep, but are much stiffer and generally not preferred on a stock TJ or LJ. I reserve those coils for jeeps running heavier bumper/ winch combos.

The 2933's were probably recommended by someone who was reading OME's book. The 2933 is the "heavy duty" coil for the TJ. 2934 would've been the better choice.

I have the 2934/2942 on the green LJ pictured earlier along with DPG’s super ultimate kit. I have a heavier front bumper and winch and was concerned about rake when I was planning it out. The front and rear of mine came out pretty well, even before I started playing around with spacers. Like Dirk said, the 2934 is a firm coil, but no sag in my experience with the weight on the front.

2934's don't sit down under extra weight as much as the softer 2933's, but with a heavy bumper and winch combo, they do sit down some. Any coil that doesn't budge at all with that much extra weight hanging off the end will be most unpleasant to drive!

Took the .75 spacer out of the front and installed a 1 1/2" spacer with the factory one. Sits pretty good now. Still about 1 1/2" higher in the rear but I'm good with that. Might need a front adjustable trac bar now, time will tell I guess.

I like it! The distance from the tire to the flare can be deceptive. Many guys think there's a certain disparity from front to rear, but when adding that particular size spacer, the jeep ends up being taller in front than they thought. I personally like a little rake, so the back isn't squatting as much when loaded. Personally, if it were my jeep, I would definitely do the adjustable front trackbar as well as longer swaybar links or disconnects, rear links and trackbar and extended bumpstops. Looking good though!
