what is the recommended backspacing for a 2015 JKU with Dana 60 full width axles? As for tires,
I am debating on 38-39” tires. I am currently running a Metalcloak 2.5 Game Changer (net a bit over 3.25 inches) and flat fenders. I realize that I will need to do some trimming in the rear and possibly new coils or at least spacers. Also, I am running Tom Woods 1350 driveshafts, I am guessing that I will have to shorten them to work with the longer pinions of the 60s. Does anyone have any suggestions and or any links to discussions on swaps etc.? I realize I am asking a bunch of questions, I am trying to plan so I will have as few surprises as possible once I begin the swap.

thanks in advance

Most people I know who run those axles have 3.5” backspace wheels. They are on 40s, so something with more backspacing might work with smaller tires. As for answers to the other questions, they strike me as the kind of thing you’ll find out once the axles are in. Sorry I can’t be more help.

I know you said “full width axles” but that is somewhat generic. How much wider are your 60’s than the stock axles? Knowing the two measurements, the width of the stock axles and the width of the 60’s, you can do the math to figure out what backspacing you need. Without knowing the width of the new 60’s, all you can do is guess.
Using 3.5” of backspacing as a starting point, for every inch wider the 60’s are you can run half an inch more backspacing.
Whatever you would need backspacing wise to run the chosen tires on stock axles, you can figure out how much more backspacing you can run on wider axles by using that math. 60’s are almost always wider than the stock axles. The question is how much wider.

I run 3.5" BS wheels. That's pretty standard.

Get the axles installed and then worry about driveshaft length, I didnt have to do anything to my front tom woods shaft. There's enough slip in the shaft that often it doesnt matter for a small change.

I had my rear shaft lengthened because I stretched like 9", just take it to a driveline shop. Anyone can do it.

Thanks guys. I ordered the axles Friday. Went with ARBs, chromo shafts, 5.38 gears, 72 inch WMS. Now, the hunt begins for wheels and tires.

I still have time to change ratios. I am still going to DD the Jeep, would I be better at 5.13?

I would stay with 5.38's. People pay a lot of money to have the lowest gear ratio possible. Dont cut yourself short. You're going to love it in the rocks.

Mine rarely drives on the street, but when it does, 5.38 is fine.

Sounds like you have a pretty bomb proof setup on the way. Even with a 2.72 transfercase, it's going to pull a house down.
