They came in a khaki color too, although I couldn't tell you the paint code

 

Don't know if this helps, but the code for the original factory top is on the ID plate (or whatever it's called) on the floor of the tub between the drivers door and the drivers seat.

There's a whole bunch of codes for the different colors over the years, these are the only ones I know...

VJN - Softtop White
VJU - Softtop Spice
VJX - Softtop Black
VKN - Hardtop White
VKU - Hardtop Spice
VKX - Hardtop Black

For example, here's a pic of the ID plate on my TJ showing VJU - so mine originally had a Spice Softtop.

 

I have that hardtop and I can tell you the paint code is zj8 which is dark khaki. I found the code on a sticker under the plastic wiper motor cover on the hardtop in case anyone else is looking for their hardtop color code. I bought a bottle of touch up from the dealer and it matched perfectly.

 

I realize this is an old post, but I've been researching this subject a while and I haven't found a definitive answer as to whether or not the ZJ8 paint purchased from PaintScratch.com is an accurate match for the Dark Khaki hardtop. Can anyone please confirm that the paint provided by PaintScratch.com is a match? Thank you!

That's good info maybe the dealer might have a whole can of spray paint of zj8. I should and find my sticker. I know mine was that khaki originally too.

 

You can also go to an automobile paint supply store and they will make custom make rattle cans for you.

 

Really that sounds the best maybe I will just have them shoot it too.
