Hey everyone,

I have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. I live in the city so I don't drive my jeep everyday. Went to go move the car today and the moment I turned it on my wipers were on, my headlights were on and my turn signals wouldn't work (yes, they were all in the off position.) Everything else seemed to be fine. This is isn't the first time this has happened, I have had this problem pop up several times. The first time I had no idea what was going on so I moved it, left it for a week and when I came back it worked fine.

The next time it happen, it really pissed me off, like mentally crushed me because I wanted to go the beach on my day off. I googled for hours that night trying to find the problem. I finally found some post on some forum that had a simple trick to reset the computer. It mentioned it was some failsafe mode, like the car thought it was stolen. Makes sense, wipers on, no turn signal, seems like it would attract cops. I eventually stumbled out to my car at 2:00 in the morning and performed the "trick".

Well, it happen again... and I have no idea how to fix it.

I have read several posts about this problem.

All of them seem to have a good process, but if you read further they all aren't the true fixes like the "trick". Disconnecting the battery is the most popular strategy but I've read further that eventually you'll have to do that everytime you start the car. Like it may work this one time, but I want to find the "trick" again.

I thought it was something like turning on the car, pressing the brake for 10 seconds, restart the car, and boom you are good to go. That didn't work.

If anyone can help, please reach out!

Thanks.

Sounds like the clocksping is bad, which I believe is on recall for all 3.8 engine years.
This is where I'd start, if you're lucky your VIN is under the recall and your issues are CS related. I got my recall notice in the mail a couple weeks ago for my 2009, but it did state replacement parts were not available yet.
I also read about a common issue, bad ground straps causing electrical issues (I can't remember exact issues drivers were experiencing).

I took my 2011 Jeep Liberty Sport into the dealership, they told me that it is a bad multi switch causing it . I pulled my J20 fuse out , stopped the wipers from coming on , but now don't have turn signals until I put that fuse back in.
