I was reading up on the cheap mod to your proportioning valve to remove the O-Ring so that it applies the pressure more evenly since I upgraded to an 8.8 with disk brakes in the rear. It has been driving fine, but my rear brakes will go through about 3 set of pads before my front brakes are done.
The thing I could not find a clear answer on is if you rip a brake line, will you lose all of your brakes, or just the system you ripped. For example my buddy tore his steel braided front line on a log a couple of weeks ago coming into a fishing spot. The only reason he could make it out is because he had his rear brakes still.
I am guessing I will still have one of the brake systems working, but I want to be 100% sure before I go messing with my proportioning valve. I lost my front brakes on the highway a couple of months ago, I dont know how well it would have ended if I lost all 4.
