I went with a rugged ridge aftermarket hit h and wiring kit. Very simple install...have to remove tail lights and connect wiring harnesses...then run power wire to battery...ran mine up the main frame of jeep. They provide zip ties.

 

I hope you either installed or kept the little plate that holds the 4 flat socket. Many other hitches have that as part of the hitch.

While the one on my JK came from the factory, I installed a similar kit on my TJ. If you're curious, you can scroll down the Quatratec listing and download the install sheet.

They also have the Mopar version which also requires running extra wires as it has not only a four flat connection but a 7 pin connection as well. Not needed unless you need trailer brakes.

Yup, I installed the plate that holds the wiring plug. Ironically, I initially forgot it lol but hadn't tightened it down yet, so... I can claim I didn't forget, right? right?

So I ordered the CURT harness. I'll post once it comes in and I install it. Hopefully it goes off without any issues.
