From what I have read neoprene tends to turn purple with time. I don’t have any recommendations as I don’t use seat covers. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

 

ive heard neoprene gives pretty bad swamp ass in the summer. i went with Trek Armor (bartact now)...i know that is out of your price range, but they are hands down the BEST out there. you may want to seriously consider the "buy once cry once" approach

 

Here is one thing I will tell you to look out for. It may just be me being petty but I put some neoprene seat covers on the TJ I had years ago.....
Many of the seat covers are not shaped to contour to the upright part of the seats. My neoprene covers were like that and I hated it. The best way I can describe it is imaging stretching a large rubber band around the top part of your seat. It is not going to sink in along the contour of your seat and every time you sit in your seat you feel it and push it back with your back. Again, it may not bother you but I hated it every time I was in my jeep.

 

Take a look at Diver Down seat covers. Quadratec carries them $180 for both the front and back seats of a 2DR. Not sure if just getting the fronts is an option. I've had them for several years and they fit well and clean up easily. YES- They are neoprene...

 

Thanks for the replies. I'll give some thought to those neoprene ones, or maybe just sticking with a fabric type. I also know Rough Country makes neoprene covers. Has anyone used those? Any other recommendations appreciated.

 

I haven't tried Rough Country's, but I bought the Rugged Ridge rear neoprene cover from Extreme Terrain for $110. They installed very poorly, didn't cover the whole back seat and wouldn't zip up completely. My 75lb dog completely destroyed it in 30 days. I mention this here mostly to caution that I don't think neoprene is a good cover for large dogs.

 

You could do the neoprene and have a towel or something to sit on if your worried about swap butt.

 

I haaaaaaaate seat covers, never fit, always move, wear faster than oem seats and never fit right...never! I just assume let my seats wear/crack or whatever, then replace or reupholster as needed. I know we want to keep our vehicles nice, but some things are meant to be used and wear out and replace as needed.

 

Totally agree! I was covering my leather seat that the dog has started to tear up. Looking for a replacement or reupholster is EXPENSIVE! If anyone has a suggestion to replace or recover just the rear seat (not even back), I would love it.

If only Clazzio made seat covers for jeeps. Have had them in my truck for the last 8 years.

 

I can second Divers Down. I have had them for years and just switched them over to a different jeep and im still impressed with the fit and strength. Only complaint i have about them is the front set faded pretty badly but the rear is perfect. I think the windsheild glare is mostly to blame though since i never have the top partially on, its either naked or full hard top.
Where i live in new england it doesnt get crazy hot so i dont get swap butt and the covers dont stink either. Im not sure how they or I would hold up in florida.

I like the water resistant heavy canvas Carhartt covers. They stand up well to muddy dogs and other challenges I have. Wash up well , seem to fit fairly well . You know it is a cover and not the seat itself.
