This is for an LJ, lifted, lockers, and running 35s. I also have the iron rock high steer system and have drilled out the stock knuckles per their instructions. I mainly rock crawl with this jeep.

Lately been thinking about getting reid knuckles to add more strength but not sure if there will be any benefit to this, or even if they will work with the iron rock system (may need to drill them out as well). I broke my steering box shaft last summer while on the dusy and it got me thinking about other stock components that could fail in places that recovery can be challenging.

So what do you think? Have you seen stock knuckles break? Not sure how tough they are.

Only seen one d44 tj knuckle snap the arm off it. was on 35"s and hydro assisted that was under some real strain in rocks.

d30? i would think axle shafts would be the fail point. D44 as well.
It has a D30 HP with chromoly shafts. I don't plan on installing a hydro assist for the very reason you mentioned above. Even with hydro I would have thought the knuckles could handle that, but obviously not.

When in a bind I try not to force anything, not that I baby the jeep, but do think about the long game (getting out without breakage)

Years ago when i checked on D30/TJ44 knuckles Reid stopped making them and they only had one of the sides available. Not sure why they still list them on their website but they apparently did not sell well.
