I reviewed many other's posts about how to get a replacement JK key with the chip and security system as the dealer wanted about $250. Here is the solution I came up: Ace Hardware can order the blank and program the key for $159+tax. Still not cheap, but the best option I found.

At Ace, they had a machine necessary to program it that they plugged into the Jeep. I understand a cut key that is not programmed with a chipped system will only work three times and then the security system shuts the key off.

Also - my other key burned up in a fire, so the solutions needing both keys would not have worked for me.
