2018 Jeep Sahara unlimited has a service light on. I did have issues with main battery and replaced it and no problem with it dying since. But then the service light came on. We discovered there’s two batteries could it need replaced and that may be the issue?

I have a way older Jeep so all I can tell you is what I read here.
When I see questions about the two batteries, the usual response is to replace both of them with quality aftermarket batteries. Other more knowledgeable members may add to that or correct me.

Yes, you need to replace both. When the auxiliary battery goes, starts to drain the main battery.
Depending on how long it's been since you replaced the main, the new one could be damaged already. And It doesn't take a lot of main battery damage to make the Jeep mad.
That's why so many people (myself included) have taken the aux battery out of the equation. Those of us who have done aux batt delete never use ESS. If you use it, you really need to have the aux batt in place and healthy.
