Sunscreen removal from plastic

So over the summer I drove to the beach with some friends and one of them who was using SPF 100 (or something ridiculously high) put his hands on the back tail light. Multiple car washes/months later, I still have white residue on both the red and black plastic components that looks like a poor wax job. Has anyone had this problem before or know how to remove it?

are you talking about the tail lights on either side? or the 3rd brake light above the spare?

The tail lights are literally 2 screws each, you can get LED replacements for 100 bucks, or find someone who will sell you their stock tails for much less.

The third brake light is tricky. the front and red part will come off with a Hex(i think) but the rear part I believe is part of the tire carrier, so you would be stuck with that, unless it is really important to you.

You tube has tons of videos showing how to do each of these, I'd look on there to see what your options are.

At motorcycle stores there is something long known as "Honda Spray Polish". Kalifornistan banned it many years ago, but it re-manifested itself in tree hugger form in the following years.

A neighbor had his car vandalized with honey a number of years ago and it cleaned it right up.

I think this is the re-invented version of it and based on a quick search, you should be able to find it anywhere including Wallyworld:

Best part is that it doesn't swirl or mess up the paint and serves as wax also.
