Hello, I wanted to find out information on tire size. I have a 2017 Jeep Wrangler (1941 edition) and the tires it currently has are 245/75R17. I was wondering if I can replace them with sizes 255/70R18. This size it the size my living area only has. I want to know if it is safe to do so without having to make extra changes or have damages.

Welcome to the forum.

You cannot install R18 tires on a 17" wheel. The two numbers following the R (for radial) are the size of the wheel those tires are manufactured to fit. Those tires are a stock size tire for the Wrangler Sahara that generally come with 18" wheels. To get that same diameter tire (32") you would need 255/75R17 tires, a very very common tire.

Your stock 245/75R17 tires are 32.5" tall, the 255/75R17 (and 255/70R18) tires are 32" tall. The 255/75R17 and 255/70R18 tires are the same height, same width and within about a dollar of each for the same brand, style and tread design.

I'm not sure what area you are in, but any tire store in the U.S. should be able to get 255/75R17 tires easily. Some brands and styles may be on back order. If you have a particular brand or style in mind, just start a search.

By going to a 32" tire from a 31.5" tire, your speedometer and odometers will be off slightly.

As mentioned above your best bet is to look online and find what you want first and then see if the tire store can get them. If the tire store can't match the price a lot of places will ship directly to your door. I ordered a set of 315/70/17 from 4 Wheel Parts and had them shipped to my house. I took them to the local tire shop and had them installed. You could also check websites like Tire Rack or Simple Tire since they will ship directly to your tire shop if they are a provider. You'll find a lot more options once you start looking online. Once you find some options you might want to list them on here first for some feedback from the group.
