I have a 2 week old 2015 JKU with Uconnect 730n, it seems that the unit freezes after a few calls when I am streaming music from the phone over Bluetooth.

So I have stopped streaming music over Bluetooth, sounds like garbage in anycase, best sound is using the AUX or store mp3s on the HDD, and just use the Bluetooth feature to receive and make calls.

Hope this helps or if there is a work around to my issue

Did you ever resolve this? If so, how?

I am having what may be a similar issue:

2017 JKU 430N radio

uConnect) Can answer incoming calls; Cannot Make Calls
Samsung Galaxy S4. Connects automatically via blue-tooth no problem, every time.

When someone calls me, I can either tap Accept on the screen or the phone button(?) and the call is answered and I can have a normal hands free conversation, and hang up with the phone button. No problem. Works every time. People on the other end say audio quality is fine.

The Problem: I cannot seem to make a voice-activated call. I hit the phone button and say "call so and so". It will come back and say "Call so and so, on mobile?" or "at home" (which matches the phone book on the phone), and when I say Yes or Correct, I then get a boop-beep and nothing and that's the end of it. I can pick up the phone and dial it by hand and as soon as the call is initiated, the blue-tooth hands free takes over and the call goes through and is normal in every way. When this same phone is paired to my other car, I can place calls with voice as well as receive them.

I thought I resolved this issue by playing with the pairing profiles in the phone BT setup. There were two listed: Phone and Media. I unchecked and re-checked each, then tested calling in each checked/unchecked condition. After re-checking Phone, it worked. For a day. Then, it stopped working again.

Last night, I did more online research, trying to see what other people thought helped them. Found a guy on a Dodge forum who tried an app called Bluetooth Auto Connect from Uniq Tec and he said it solved his problems.

It was free, so I thought what the heck and grabbed it.

On the drive to work this morning, I was able to make calls via bluetooth. So, I am cautiously optimistic. I will not believe it is really fixed until it works for longer than just one day. Will report back.

Hey guys. My uconnect was working when i got my 2011 Sport two years ago (almost to the day) but this winter sometime it decided to quit working. When I hit the phone button she says "uconnect ready." When I say "setup" to pair my new phone, she says "available options are..." and lists the all. No matter what I say nothing works. I tried pulling the fuse for 10 seconds, as well as disconnecting the mic for a bit. Any other suggestions?

PS I have the 130S model

Phone Muted

Starting this week, when I make or receive a call using UConnect (430N, 2015 JKUR), the call goes through, but no sound. Either I can't hear the other side, they can't hear me, or both. I am forced to switch the call over to my hand held phone - which is not optimal in traffic or on challenging roads. I'd like to avoid a trip to the dealership.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Does anyone know a fix for this?

For the 730N radio, there's a forum member named nwbronco who has one and is very up to date on them. I really don't have any experiance with that radio.
I probably do not have the knowledge you do. But, I do know the 730N pretty well.

For the screen setting:
Press the MENU hard-key and touch the Display Settings
soft-key to access the Display Settings menu.
Select the Daytime Colors soft-key to switch to manual
daytime mode and to adjust the brightness of the display
using daytime colors.

Select the Nighttime Colors soft-key to switch to manual
nighttime mode and to adjust the brightness of the
display using nighttime colors.

Select the Auto Color soft-key to switch to automatic
daytime/ nighttime mode and to control the brightness
of the display using the light switch of the vehicle.
Touch the DONE soft-key to save your settings and to
return to the AM/FM/SAT Menu.

I don't want to be notified every time I have a text message, especially when I'm listening to a Audiobook and suddenly heard "New SMS message from plus one eight one seven five five five one two three four, to read message..." :pullinghair: What can I so that she only interupts me when I have an incoming call?
Did this work for you? Oh yeah, I'm pulling my hair out bc of this. I'm listening to Rage, and all of the sudden my girlfriend texts. ..and she blows up my phone a good 7 to 8 texts in a row. Constantly hitting the cancel button. (Sigh)

Not sure this belongs here, but it does have to do with U-Connect. Article about hacking into Jeeps using their U-connect programming.

Wired Linky

Thoughts and comments please. :pc-ouch:
In my opinion this issue over-shadows everything else given the implications. Will this be corrected in time for the 2016 models? I hope so but I have my doubts. Too bad too that the first report involved the new Cherokee which already has well-publicized issues with its transmission. This is not good news for Chrysler.

We have a 2013 JK with the 730N UConnect.

One issue we are dealing with, is sometimes when we change over to the HDD to listen to saved files, the entire system locks up. Nothing will work until we turn the vehicle off and on again.

Every now and again, that won't even help, and I will need to pull the fuse to get it to respond.

Any idea why this happens?

This was happening to me in my 2013 Moab. So so annoying and also in my husbands power wagon Ram truck so it's a U connect thing. They just replaced the recall wiring for the heated mirrors like 4 days ago and I don't have any radio issues anymore I even get better Bluetooth connection faster and more bars from my cell phone. So maybe if that recall replacement isn't done ; do it. I was having all sorts of issues. Electrical can mess up so much stuff. Luck.

We bought the Jeep used, and it appears that the previous owner was very proactive, and there is a well documented service history. As far as I can tell, there is no outstanding recall work that needs to be performed.

I am getting the complete history for the previous dealer, so I will know soon.

For the last few months, when I turn off the car and turn it back on, the thumb drive in uconnect 430n has been starting from the first song instead of remembering where it stopped (I even have to reselect the shuffle option). Anyone else experience this? I can't seem to find any answer online on how to fix it.

I have a 2015 JKUHR with the 730N Uconnect system. I have three music folders on the hard drive. I know that I can copy Mp3s to the HD and then name a folder to hold them. However, can I copy Mp3s to an existing folder? It seems that I can only copy the music files into a new folder. Thanks.

The only way I has successfully managed folders is to delete and re-create. I have a 8Gb thumbdrive I use to keep a folder current. I plug the thumbdrive into my PC and add files to the folder on my PC and then copy it to the existing folder on the thumbdrive. I then delete the folder on the 730 and re-install it from the thumbdrive.

You cannot assign music as it is uploaded to separate folders. By default, it will put them all in the root directory.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was doing. I have to check, but I believe that you can assign Favorites from your music files. If you can segregate Favorites into categories, like Favorites 1, 2, etc., perhaps you can add a file to the root of the drive and then assign it to Favorites 1. It may be more work than just deleting a folder and recreating it to include a new songs.
