Ever since installing a tall lift and 35's, the steering feels wabbly, especially at 60mph+. Steering is very soft, unresponsive. I don't expect it to perform like a sport car, but it's very stressful to drive the Jeep on the highway, every little bump seems to throw the car off. Is there a mod to correct this issue? A steering damper or stabilizer, and a really good one? Anything else to get that heavy steering feel and no wobble?

A coworker had a similar complaint after lifting and did a dry steering test to find that his Track Bar was flexing. I would check castor if you're feeling flightiness, but do a dry steering test to check for loose/worn/weak components. Let me know what questions you have or if you'd like a quote!

How much lift, what brand, what components were replaced. Sounds like a caster issue, but more info is needed to help.

Sky Jacker 2.5-3.5 suspension lift (resulted close to 4" lift), 35's Nitto Trailgrapplers. Replaced the track bar with adjustible one, did a DYI alignment...maybe should do a pro computerized one.

Yeah I would guess caster, see what numbers the alignment gives you. Then will need to fix with at least the correction brackets. I am no expert though, see what others say also.

Would I have to redo the alignment if I installed both of these compononets? If yes, then might as well get both of these, install them, and then do a pro alignment, so I don't end up paying for 2 alignments.

Well,

I chased this problem for months.

Was it caster? Not really...small contributor.

Was it alignment? No

Steering Stabalizer? NO NO NO..your could get the Fox ATS and mask it I guess for $345

Steering Geomentry? Yes.....90% of the problem.\

I would not get the correction brackets.....its the lazy fix.

You need a flip kit if your at 4" of lift. This will flip the draglink and raise the track bar at the axel to correct steering geometry.

I installed the Teraflex HD flip kit which lowers the TB at the frame, this corrected the bump steer and some flighty, loose, soft steering issue.

I actually raised the TB at the axle also and resolved 99% of the steering issues.

Amy time you mess with the front end you need an alignment.
your tires were flat where they were and by lifting 4 inches you changed the angle the tires contact the road.

had the alignment done, problem solved, no more shaking, good steering response, heavier steering. What would be the advantage of installing an after-market steering stabilizer? Would the wheel feel a bit heavier? I'm used to the heavy and responsive BMW steering, would be great if I could get the Jeep close to that.

Was your toe out of spec ?

The difference between our jeep and a BMW is about 6 degrees caster, maybe more.
Read the link above on caster.
Jk = 4-5* stock.
BMW is probably set up at 10-11* caster.

A HD stabilizer will tighten the feel over bumps. Not Necessary straight line handling. Some stabs have a high pressure gas charge which can cause a left push.
Caster returns the steering when you come out of a turn. A stab will just help damping impacts.
