Water Pump and Radiator upgrade?

Just picked up a used 01 Wrangler Sport 6L 5 Spd.
Wanted to take some precautions against hot weather where we ride..

I see the thermostat housing is weeping...So I thought I would replace that, the housing and water pump all at the same time...Driven Northern California and Western Nevada-so I want the Jeep set for some hot weather...Was even considering upgrading the radiator.

What are you doing to keep your jeep running cool at slow speeds in hot weather? Are the Flowkooler pumps worth it? Thermostat temp rating?

Thanks...

I haven't done any upgrade to the cooling system (live in some nice climate areas), but I would definitely recommend checking out installing a Ford Taurus electric fan. A lot of Jeepers have done that mod, it just requires some creative modifications to make it all fit.

No, the "high output" water pumps are any different.

In reality, a properly running OEM cooling system will not allow your engine to overheat. Period.

One thing to ensure is that the new pump's impeller fins are facing the same direction as your old pump when you replace the pump. I go by the "if it aint broke don't fix it" mentality. I just replaced my pump, thermostat, hoses, belt, coolant yesterday b/c my pump was weeping.

it gets 120degrees here and I've had zero issues with overheating.
