Does anyone know what font is used on the stock "WILLYS" hood decal? I want to duplicate the word in the proper font in other places.

Thanks! Sharon

There must be some sort of font because I had a guy make this for me and I assume he plugged in the word Willys to the font and cut the decals:

I did a quick search of the places where I usually can get the name of a font such as this:
Willys Jeep logo font - WTF Forum « MyFonts
I came up empty-handed. I do not think that this exists as a complete font

As you may be aware, the Willys font/logo has gone through a number of variations but I am assuming that you are looking for the block-style (number 4 on this link):
Willys Logos

To be quite frank, any kid with a computer and some form of vector art program could whip this up for you in no time. I use Affinity Designer on a Mac, and it is simply a matter of tracing the image, converting to curves, and any adjusting for taste that may be necessary.

If you do not know someone personally who could do this for you then anyone in the business of making and selling vinyl graphics should be able to do it as part of the job if you want to order some decals. Barring that, and if you're not in any big hurry, I could perhaps do it and send you the file. I would just need to know the desired final size and what filetype you would like. EPS would resize well for you but without a vector program your machine couldn't read it and the person doing the decal may prefer another filetype. Background and foreground colour info would also be helpful although that can be fixed after the fact. So, just PM me if you don't come up with a better option (I am speaking only to the OP here, please).

Artistic liberties were taken I think.....

If anyone were up for a bit of DIY there is a good bit of fun and satisfaction to be had from making something yourself. Here is one of many font creation sites which require no experience - and it is FREE!

FontStruct | Build, Share, Download Fonts

That would give you as complete a font as you wish; if it is indeed a complete font set that you need or want. Otherwise, just working up your design in a vector program, or having someone else do it, would be faster and easier - but nowhere near as fun or fulfilling.

*Please note the word "Share" in the link which I have posted; were anyone, who had the time to do so, take on this task they would then be able to share the font with others here and gain an awful lot of internet points along with the eternal gratitude of many.
