You just had to start this thread, didn't you?
Ok. This one was overconfidence and mechanical failure all in the same incident. Took out both front axle shafts on the obstacle before this at the top of 25 and didn't know it, started down this off camber drop and got over too far, tried to use the front end to pull me out and then found out the axles were broken. I had been on this trail section 3X that day but this time I took a different trail to get to this spot. Trail 17 at Gulches at the top where Trail 25 and 17 come together and where 17 splits into the main trail and the bypass. It’ll buff out

Black Bear pass with more ba**s than brains. Wet granite, snow and near freezing temps=BAD.
Almost went on my lid in Moab, broken front passenger axle (Outer) and punctured gas tank on some un-named trail in New Mexico. Side flopped twice--twice so I'd have matching dents.

Currently a firm believer in careful application of the skinny pedal.

I've been stuck twice, in my 4Runner, in the same area. A buddy of mine painted a sign and put it down there that says "Toyota Trap." I could've winched or played with traction boards but it's faster / easier to use a tow rope and a friend.

My friend that painted the sign was stuck in his XJ to left of me. His nephew pulled him out with a 3rd gen Toyota 4Runner.

Not quite symmetrical, but opposite sides. Totally on purpose. Yeah...They were both very slow in developing staying at that uncomfortable camber way too long, then came this gust of wind, yeah, It wasn't my driving, it was the wind.

So reading about JJ's adventure with the sandy trail and overinflated tires, I got to thinking about a thread where we can post "what not to do".

Below are a few pics from when I had just installed a front locker, had new BFG MTs, and was convinced that my Jeep was unstoppable.
Note that I am high centered on a rock.
That's what being overconfident and not picking the right line will get ya'.

My mistake was going up gently, so my wife wouldn't freak out. The left side was on sand stone, the right side was on gravel, with a drop-off to her side. I gave it a little gas, and the right front flipped gravel and dove right. No matter what I did, it got worse. I parked it and helped her across the console, and walked her up the hill. I put it in 4 low reverse, and revved up and dumped the clutch. Flew right out of there. Then I drove up, UNgently.

⬆This... early lesson learned in my case, 1994, my first off-road attempt in my CJ, trying to impress a girl while on a date... "I can climb that!" Yep, sure could... but hung up going over the top. Second lesson learned of the night... don't off-road without another vehicle. It was a long wait for a tow off that hill...

Drove my wife’s YJ all over the Anchorage area and even though we got it a little stuck sometimes, we could always get it out without help or a winch…
Until one day when I was cruising around by myself and saw a glorious mud patch that called to me.
What I thought was going to be a couple of runs through a muddy spot that would fling mud around was actually me driving the Jeep straight off into a mud hole. Lol
I got out into the middle of it before she lost her traction and momentum.
The mud was deeper than it looked (you could walk on it easily)… and now my wife’s Jeep was sitting in it so that it looked like only a body sitting on the ground… right before I had to be at work.
I called a buddy I worked with who came and pulled me out, and we just barely made it to work on time.
It was the only time that Jeep ever needed help getting out of a situation I put her in. She was amazing!
