hey i have a guy selling these whels to me for $150. they are steel and he dosen't know the brand. My only question is that they are 15x10 and i wanted to know if those are bad for offroad because i heard the tire will come off the wheels. Should i pass up on this deal or get them for $150 for 4 wheels. I am going to do offroading but nothing crazy just hill climbs and rock crawling. i have an 03 wrangler x with 4" lift. So should i get these or buy some 15x8's?
Thanks

Whether 10" wide wheels are a good choice depends on your tire size. The minimum width tire that wide of a wheel should run on is a 12.5". Personally, I wouldn't run a 10" wide wheel unless I was running a 13.5" or wider tire.

Remember, the goal is not to match up the wheel's width with the tires's advertised width. What the wheel width should be closer to is the tire's natural bead width which can be a couple inches under its advertised width which is only the tire's width at its widest point which is half-way up the sidewall, not the tread or bead width.

It takes more air pressure to hold a tire safely seated the wider the wheel is so if you air down for offroading, be aware of that.

So what size tires will you be wanting to mount on those wheels?

While you could run those on 15x10 wheels, my recommendation is 15x8 if you air your tires down for offroading with 15x8 also working fine for the street. 15x10 would be fine for a purely street Jeep though.

You could of course offroad with that 15x10 wheel and 33x12.50 tires but you can air down to lower tire pressures with 15x8 without fear that the tire will become unseated. It takes more air pressure to keep a tire safely seated against two edges 10" apart than if they are only 8" apart.

Is there any differences if ur running 35s?

I run 15x10s pretty much exclusively on 12.50 and wider tires. But i do more mud runnin and bogs then anything else. I see the problem if your airing down to 3-10 psi, the tire is more likely to unseat the bead from the rim. But if your running 15-30 a 10 wide will hold up fine. I think 12.50s look and perform better on a 10 wide but everyone has their own opinion.

same here, i run 33/12.50's on 15x10 classic II's with no problem, ive never had any issues and it looks cool as hell. In all honesty, i was shopping for some 15x8's, but after your Wrangler has had 10's its tough to go back. I agree with Jerry and other posters about being able to air down an 8" much lower, but if youre not planning on serious rock crawling then its just preference. $150 isnt a bad price for those wheels, especially if youre running stock wheels..

Completely agree with above posts -- I too run 33x12.50 on a 15x10 and never had any problems. I prefer the look of this setup vs. one with 15x8, but either one is fine and if this is not a daily driver and it will see heavy offroad/airdown use, 15x8 might be slightly better. But as long as you don't air down below 15 psi or so, there is virtually no risk of the beads coming off the 15x10s.

Only complaint I have is when I mud ride it's sooo hard to see because of my stock flares. I'm upgrading to some flat ones this summer

I've run 12.50 tires on 15x10 steel rims for the past seven years and have never popped a bead. In Moab I consistently ran 8psi in 33x12.50s and in the East coast mud I stick to 13psi in 35x12.50s.
