Looking at your sig it looks like your out west, I just use the Napa products, seems to work. My pump drove me crazy for a bit. First I checked for alignment to make sure the pulleys are not miss aligned, then I replaced the PSP pully, then the pump, but I just picked up a pump from napa, I have not had a problem since it was installed. I think it was like $70 or something. Good luck with your project.

First thing to do is check the pulley alignment unless you've had the Jeep for a while and are sure your pulleys are correct and in good shape.
Try spraying water on the PS belt to see if the squeak goes away. If so, it may be the belt.
You don't state what engine you have or what year your Jeep is. Do any of your belt(s) have an idler?

If you buy a pump without a pulley, you'll need a pully removal and install tool so that you can re-use your current pulley. Most parts stores will loan or rent you one. The tools are cheap so I bought one. I've used it a couple times since. You don't want to change a PS pump on a Ford F-150 5.4 V8.
I put a NAPA PS pump on my Cherokee 4.0 and it worked well until I sold the vehicle.

Good Luck, L.M.

Like LM said, the tool is cheap, I did the same and just bought the tool. Don't waste your money on fancy name pumps, you don't need a magical pump, just one that's going to last you. so get the tool, get the pump, and like me I just got a new pully also. (y)

This jeep is a 2.5 L, I have replaced the idler bearing with a high quality one, replaced the alternator, also finished up the H2O pump since it was wearing. I have had a squeak for 6 months. I have not checked the pulley for alignment. Tell me how to do that and I will give it a try.
Thanks

Well if your a carpenter you may just have the tools, Get a straight edge, it can be anything that has a long straight edge, but not to long it wont fit. Take the straight edge and lay it across the front of the pullies, do this to see if any are at an angle of the straight edge you are using, boards don't work so well, a piece of mettle is best.

AFIK, the only way the PS pulley can be out of alignment is if the pulley itself or the PS brackets are bent. I think it's pretty unlikely that any of the brackets could be bent.
If the pulley is bent, all that a person can do is replace it.

Good Luck, L.M.

I am doing this right now also.
I am choosing to go with O'Reillys because they are close to me, they have it on the shelf, and it has a limited lifetime warranty.

A month or so ago I changed out the steering gear so this seems about the way it goes.
It is the original pump and has been on 35s for 2 years so I think that was a good run.
