Recently put a 2.5 rough country lift on my yj. The biggest tires they say you can put on are 31s. But I think that 33s would look better and fill the wheel wells more. The question I'm asking is does anyone run this setup, and do you have any problems with rubbing? I've seen the tj flares on yj and could do that if needed. Oh and it's a 92 2.5L, thank in advance.

I and yes it rubs. Not super bad unless it's loaded with ppl. Just me driving down the road, no rub. Off road lots of rub but only on the plastic fenders. And the front tires rub the leafs when turning sharp. Need wheel spacers or adjust steering stops.

I've seen people that saved some $$ and trimmed the factory flares for more room so they don't rub on them. And yes, you can adjust the steering stops so they don't hit the springs too. I have 2.5 inch shackles now with 31's and have all sorts of room and I'm going with a 2.5 inch lift kit and 5/8 inch lift shackles to get rid of the shackle lift then I'm getting 33's.

Hey guys, Im kinda new to the jeep game and was wondering if i can fit 2013 JKU wheels on my 95 YJ? I can get a real good deal on them but i want to make sure they can fit. thanks in advance
BTW this is the set up 18x9 4.5in backspacing XD Monsters with duratrac 275/70/18 (33's). I currently have a 2.5 in lift.

To OP

This is my YJ with a 2-1/2" Rubicon Lift w/ 31's

I wanted 33's also so I added a 1" BL, TJ Flares and a minor bit of trimming

You will need more than just a lift to run 33's or they will rub the plastic flares and the metal fenders, that is if you want to go off road.

I am Jeffery from Indiana. I like jeepforums, but not jeepforum. Joined jlwranglerforum, but it sucks so hoping this place is better.

Too much jl traffic, not enough YJ joy.
You will find that there is a lot of YJ activity on this Forum. FYI..This is the largest Wrangler Forum, by registered Member count.

I was originally from Crown Point Indiana.
