It sounds to me that you have more issues than just the rotor hitting the cap. If you hit a bump too hard and that was the result you might want to check your motor and transmission mounts. I suppose the distributor could be worn but that would not be my first concern.

 

I am in the same camp here..... sounds like you MIGHT have broken a mount.....OR bent frame a bit......

 

doesn't sound like there is much doubt that something moved..I would check that out and also look the distributor over to see what is wrong with it.

 

Well i'll be. Forgot to mention I took a skid plate that cover t case off to install new front drive shaft didn't put back on didn't think much of it.

 

Glad to hear that it wasn't any too major then. You might pick up a new distributor cap now but I don't think that yours should be damaged. If you do, take the old one and toss it into the toolbox and begin your "trail spares" box.

 

No real damage to cap just visible rub marks on it. Thanks for the advice.
