Hey all, finally getting another TJ, and would like to get others opinions on where to get add ons for my Jeep. I used to use Quadratec and a few others, but any suggestions would be awesome!
Thanks!
Brian

4lowparts, Black Magic Brakes, junkyard finds, and good old craigslist

It depends on what you are looking for, budget, things like that. Also, it’s has only been a few hours since you posted, it’s a work day. Give it some time and you will get recommendations.
That being said, I have been compiling a list of mods I want to do, and have pick 4wp, quadratec , Morris 4x4, krawl off road, and a few others to buy from. I am limited by budget and have been hunting for the best product for the best price for what I want.

I try to go to the original manufacturer first - most sell their own stuff on their web sites. Cuts out the middleman. I try to buy Made in the USA where possible and this ensures they get more of my dollars than buying through Quadratec et. al.

If it were me, I would probably concentrate on system-critical replacements/upgrades...

I wanted Black Magic Brakes, they have a fantastic reputation! I ended up getting NAPA premium polymer coated rotors and premium ceramic pads. Maybe Black Magic next time, but the NAPA brakes have been excellent. No dust and stop solidly!

Maybe replace old U-jpoints and CV joints with some Spicer non-greaseable components from Denny's Driveshaft in NY.
Chances are the joints in yours are old or neglected. I wouldn't want a driveshaft to drop while on the highway.

Other stuff? NAPA or RockAuto.com.

I have ordered from Quadratec. Pricing is not bad, depending on what it is. A lot of stuff tends to be close to other re-seller prices, but they do have some good sales. They do offer a discount for Wrangler Forum members. Paid for my sales tax, plus a little extra off the total.

I have also ordered a couple of trinkets from Morris 4x4. Similar deals as Quadratec on a lot of stuff.

Expensive stuff, I'll dig deeper in shopping around. For cheaper items, I'll go quick and convenient.

My go-to's are Northridge 4x4, Morris 4x4 Center, and Quadratec. Northridge and Quadratec customer service have been fantastic. Morris, not so much. In the past, Northridge and Quadratec have offered discounts for forum members.

I've had very good luck on FB Market place. People upgrade numerous times, or sell one model for a newer one and parts are sold pennies on the dollar.

As to new places, I used to recommend Quadratec only. I go back with them to 1991 when I bought my first Jeep. There are internal changes going on in that company as the son takes over for the father (founder). The new philosophy is not one I care for and I personally know a number of people who have been fired due to the regime change. I no longer recommend them, and I have a hefty discount when I order too. Their most recent showing at a large show in PA was embarrassing to say the least.

I have found Northridge 4x4 to be an excellent vendor with many parts in stock and top notch service. I have switched to them fully.

I think it is a sad sign that I am about to be the first person to say this...BUY LOCAL!!! Remember that shop down the road that stayed open for there customers all the way through the pandemic last year? Remember that other shop that had that damn bolt you couldn't find anywhere when you dropped it half way through the last project? How about those guys willing to stay late on a Friday night so that you get your vehicle back for the weekend? Sure you could save $20 here and $40 there by "cutting out the middle man" but someday that middle man won't be there if you keep cutting him out and you just might need that guy right down the road someday.

Actually I don't buy from the USA and local companies direct to save a few bucks by "cutting out the middleman". I do it because the prices are usually the same (sometimes a few dollars more) but the manufacturer gets all my dollars not 60-80% of them. YMMV
