Factory 3.73 gears on a sport?

Just a quick question. Is it common for sport model JK's to have upgraded 3.73 gears straight from the factory?

Was looking at the window sticker for a '17 2 door, and noticed it was upgraded to 3.73. I thought only the Willy's and Rubi trims came with those gears and all sport models had 3.21. I attached pics of the window sticker.

On all recent JKUs (2014-2018) the standard diff ratio was 3.21 (except for the Rubicons). On those Jeeps, the 3.73 was the only optional ratio two ways - 1. direct as an option as shown on that window sticker or 2. as part of the Max Tow package. The towing package was IIRC $495 and the max towing package in 2017 was $845. The towing package included the wiring and hitch, the max tow added the 3.73 gearing.

All manual Rubicons in that era came with 4.10s standard and the automatics came with the 3.73 standard and 4.10 was an option. The 4.10 were not an option on any Jeep in that era that was not a Rubicon.

In 2017 the Sport(S)/Sahara 3.21 was the standard gear with the 3.73 available as a stand alone option or as part of the Max Tow package. Judging from your sticker yours was a stand alone option. (FWIW The Sport S package did not include 3.73 gears)

I bought my 18 JKU Sport new. The reason I chose the dealer I did was because I knew I wanted 3.73 instead of the 3.21. I noticed they had several Sports on the lot all said 3.73 gears. I called to see if it was an error and was told they modify many of the new jeeps they get before they sell them so they get all of them with 3.37's or lower, depending on the trim. They add lift kits etc. to a certain percentage of them. They were also the largest volume wrangler dealer in Indiana so they get some perks from FCA. I know this to be true because they were able to let me custom order a 18 JKU sport in November of 2017 after order banks had supposedly closed because the JL's were coming out. The other dealers I checked out said no way I could get one that was not already on a lot.

I didn't get one off the lot and ordered one to get the color I wanted (also 3.73's and hard top) but yes they had a lot full of them with 3.73 gears. They had several still in the "que" being built by Jeep and they were allowed to get one of those changed to meet my specs.

i wont get into "if" they can come with 3.73s

but i will say that getting 3.73s was at the top of my list when looking for a used wrangler
i looked for 3 mths and never seen a sport with 3.73s in my area ..
in the end i decided to reduce what i was willing to pay by what it would cost me to regear
