Whats so premium about the premium top and what do i have
The new premium top is three-ply with convertible top like material. There is a nice heavy twill fabric as the outer layer, than vinyl, and the. The inner layer is more twill. Very nice.

Sounds like you did not tuck your windows into the door surrounds correctly. They should not flap.
I think this is the problem. It's very common to have the leading edge of the side windows installed correctly. Many think they are held in by the doors, which leads to them coming loose.

A correctly installed soft top & windows should not flap at any speed.

I'm having the flap issue with my driver's side window (4 door). It simply will not stay seated within the edge of the door. I've tried over and over to reset the window but it comes loose where it's supposed to grab the edge. Passenger's side is okay. Thinking of adding Velcro to keep the offending flapper under control.

Have you read this thread and are sure you've installed them correctly?

It's very common for folks to think the doors themselves hold the windows in place. This is an incorrect assumption and will lead to the windows coming loose as you drive.

You need to ensure you have "rolled" the window edge completely into its channel.

Please post some pics and well get it sorted out. You should not need to add anything to a factory soft top to prevent flapping.

Today the spring on the top cable on the passenger side came off. It caused the window to not fit tight. That couod be the ops problem as well. I just had to pop it back in.

We need pics of the offending window problem folks.

As already mentioned at least 4 times. If the side window leading ledge is not rolled into the groove in the surround, it simply will not stay in place. When in place and doors closed there is absolutely NO WAY the window can come loose. AAMOF someone cannot even steal the side windows with the doors locked, they are that tight.

So you fellas having probs. if you can pull the side windows off without opening the doors, they are on wrong!

I realised the other day that I have made this error, but I haven't yet got round to fixing it. What is the correct order in which to install the leading edge, bottom edge and zipper/velcro?
I do this:
-start zipper a few inches
-bottom retainer
-door retainer part
-rest of zipper
-Velcro
I've never had it flap on me and I'm going on 5 years

Exactly..
the only thing you may need to do for the first couple times is start the leading edge retainer before the bottom retainer until the material breaks in..

I put mine soft top on yesterday and noticed right away that something was wrong with the rear windows. Good thing for this site. I pulled mine off today and reset them. The top isn't quite as snug as the bottom, but they are much better now.

Thank you mgola27! I finally got it after your reply. Went and reinstalled the windows (correctly this time). Flap is gone! Windows are nice and tight. I appreciate the help!

Mine is sahara2dr 2013 with premium softtop but the side window flapping crazy on highway speed:banghead:
I put hardtop back yesterday, but the soft top is my love, it goes topless faster , soft top will be perfect to me if it does not flap...
Anybody fixed the flapping problem? Maybe use a tape to paste the side window?
i have the EXACT SAME SET-UP AS YOU right down to the silver bumpers (Sahara) i put my Premium top on last weekend and have had NO flapping.. i regularly get up to 70 mph..
CHeck your install...something isn't right.
