Is this part necessary?

When I removed this part (the on on the floor) to remove my blown engine and transmission, the bolts broke off. I see other JK's without this part. Is it necessary to reinstall? I have a 2011 Wrangler Sahara 3.8 Automatic.

the part on the ground is the stock skid its junk really. People that use the jeep off road would be best to replace the stock with full belly plate. There is trans line that crosses over other rather poorly protect stuff.

The part hanging vertically is the trans brace and must be used.

Belly plate on a JK covers all of it from trans brace to under the 3.6/3.8s they are rather heavy 1/4 plate and they bend with the weight of a pig on it.

The transmission crossmember is a yes and for sure. The thing laying flat on the floor is a no but if you're not buying an aftermarket belly pan skid, anything is better than nothing, but still not needed if you're just driving around.
