I am looking into new shocks and I ran across these ES4000 Toxic Series Shock Absorber - exp419509 and these ES3000 Series Shocks Absorber - exp321560 and these ES9000 Series. Are any of these decent shocks? Have any expierence with them? Does the toxic shock come in longer travel applications? Also what are thought on shock dust boots? Should I get them when I buy new shocks? I am not sure of the ones I have on my Rubi now but I just noticed that the rear two shocks arent the same one has been replaced and now the oppsite is bad and one of the fronts doesn't feel right. Any help here would be great I understand money buys quality but I dont have a whole lot right now maybe a few hundred to spend about 3 hundred if I save out of my next pay check.

Don't waste your money on those pro comp shocks. There are many bad reviews on their ride quality. I believe the toxic series are made for stock to lowered vehicles and ES3000 are junk. You should be able to find some decent shocks for $300. Search OME, Bilsteins, Rancho 9000, BDS.. For stock replacements, Monroes are pretty good.

X2 they are garbage.
Pro-Comp anything is junk, no exaggeration. Those shocks are not worth a damn.
Worst shock I have ever had.

I had some Pro Comp shocks on my Toyota 4x4 and the valving was so far off the ride was terrible. I took the loss and threw them in the trash.

Shocks

When I went with Rough Country 2.2 on my 3.5 RE lift, price was an issue. Well after 2yrs of wheeling and getting beat to death, I went with Rancho 9000xl's, the difference is from night to day. For wheeling you back off the adjuster a few clicks, and when airing up you set them at 9, and rail the road like a sports car. Money well spent.:thumb:

I had the ProComp ES9000 series. After driving on a gravel road with some washboards I immediately knew I needed different shocks. I thought my Jeep was going to rattle apart.

I went with Bilstein 5100 series shocks and never looked back.
