Have not been on here in a while and I'm sure there is similar threads for this issue. My jeep is a 08 sahara with a 3" lift and 325/65 R18 tires. The jeep has not handled great since I put the over size tires on it but today on the highway in pretty heavy winds was enough to make me have to find a solution to this lousy handling. Anything above 45 or so the jeep is all over the road and at 65 to 75 it's unbearable. The jeep has just less than 40,000 miles on it. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks!

Honestly, my 315/70/17 Duratracs at 36psi on a windy day on the expressway feels like I'm heading towards death. Drop the psi to 28 and it's still like a sail but very manageable and the normal days are super comfy.

Thats the ride I had today. Not a comfortable feeling in traffic at speed. I dropped my pressure down so I'll see what that does and I'm going to have my alignment and front end suspension checked.

Just replaced my tie rod. Steering is much more solid.

Drop the pressure if you like but it has nothing to do with the directional stability of your Jeep and does not fix the source of the problem. I run my tires at 45 (49 when the get hot) PSI and it tracks straight as an arrow at 80 MPH with MT tires. Lowering your tire pressure just increases the friction (scrub) that required to change their direction so it feels like they drift less. You likely have a low Caster angle due to your lift kit. It is more noticeable with larger tires because they have more leverage on the steering system. You should look at a set of control geometry brackets first and then adjustable control arms if the brackets are not enough to set your Caster angle.

All these solutions and not one person paid attention to the fact that he said he was in heavy winds. You're driving a lifted Jeep in heavy winds and want a solution to the poor handling? The solution is simple, pull over and wait until the wind stops.
