Sounds way more exciting than it really is.

August, 2015. Wife and I go to dealership, scoop up a brand new '15 JKU. Dealer guy exclaims how much it sucks that there's no tool kit that comes with the hardtop Jeeps. Whatever.

Get home. take a closer look at the window sticker. General section has it listed as the very first thing to come with the Jeep. Eh?

Find this nifty forum on the innerwebs about Jeep Wranglers ;)
Discover that the tool kit is now coming with most Jeeps. Awesome!

Call up dealership, receive various reactions of confusion and, "well, we don't have them, but we will see what we can do."

Just in case, call Jeep directly. Very nice lady since that has been consistently getting a hold of me to check up on the progress of receiving the tool kit. She keeps hounding the dealership service and parts department to get this whole thing settled.

Last week, I'm notified that the tool kit is on it's way. Hooray!

I get it yesterday. Eagerly opening the Mopar stamped box, I first discover a pair of gloves. Winching gloves. Hey, these are neat, didn't know they came with the freakin Torx wrenches. Then I get the shackles. And finally, the tow rope. Mild flashbacks of being in Korea and self recovering my truck begin.

Waiting for Jeep to call back, and trying to figure out what to say. While it's neat to have this recovery kit, should I just keep it, and go buy a stupid set of sockets from Autozone? Or do I keep pressing forward on principle that the damned tool kit was supposed to be there to begin with, and I should have it?

Did you happen to get a Willys Wheeler or a Rubicon Hard Rock?

If yes, then you are entitled to the kit you received, PLUS the Torx Kit.

it's just the JKU Sport. Wanted a Willy's but they didn't have the 4 door. It wasn't until I joined the forums that I found out I could just order it straight from Jeep, which is what I plan to do in a few months :D

All Terrain, that's why I'm sort of leaning towards just throwing my hands up and forgetting the entire thing, lol

I think that's what I'd at this point. Torx bits are cheap.

You can buy the torx kit off ebay..

Almost positive that the 15's actually are supposed to come with a torx bit kit

They are supposed to come with the torx kit, however if he continues to pursue a the issue Jeep may ask for their $150+- recovery kit back.
Torx kit - all 15s
Recovery kit - all Hard Rocks and Willys

I agree with this, you got the better end of the deal.

On the second day I debolted all 4 doors with the torx kit. I will be amazed if it still works 5 years from now.

When you speak to them, mention what happened. They will probably tell you to keep it, but they gave you the wrong thing, offer it back.

And who cares about the Torx kit? Buy a quality set, and dont worry about the crap tools they give out for free.

Got the torx kit with my 15 Rubicon. Forget about it not good at all. Buy anything from anyone else and quality will be equal or better. Recovery kit is a great trade for torx kit. If you want I will exchange my torx kit for your recovery kit. Lol.

I didn't get either with my 14' sport and had no idea I was supposed to. I went out and bought a T40 and T50, I have all the other sizes needed and the two I bought cost me less than $10.

Recovery kit? I didn't know Jeep even had an official one!

Is this something new for 2015 that 2014 Rubicon's didn't get?

So, what is in the Offical Jeep Recovery Kit?? inquiring minds, you know...........
