Unless your trans was rebuilt with new components you should not need to reset the whole thing. Is your trans holding up the shift on a flat road or going uphill? If it’s the last I wouldn’t worrry much about it. The nag1 or should I say the oe programming is a little weird. Supposedly there is a couple of companies that can fix that shift delay but I think you have to send them your TCM?
 
See this thread and see if it relates to what you’re experiencing. Should not be an issue on flat or going downhill. Only issue with a delay shifting going uphill.
