I might be going against the grain here, but I think in general plastic flares look best on the JK, stock flares, Mopar high tops or MCE flat fenders are the only ones I would personally run, save a bit of weight too. Here’s a picture of the MCEs

I agree, I also run MCE flares. I think the classic flat look is best.
I plan on getting some MCEs once I upgrade to 37s eventually. I like that they’re US made and honestly they are a pretty good price compared to other flares

Im like the MCE's too.
I like a plastic flare so if it get's up against something too hard, it will flex/break instead of bending the sheet metal(hopefully).

I keep reading that same thing about bending sheet metal with metal flares. I've bent both of my rear metal flares with no denting of the vehicle body. I'm glad I didn't buy expensive plastic flares as I'd have to replace them already.

What I really need is some wheel spacers that will cause the tires to hit trees & dirt / mud walls before the fenders do.

I have these. Cheap and Ugly. Really don't work as a fender though. If it rains and I drive on gravel my Jeep gets covered in mud.

I've got TrailMods removable flairs:

Most of the time I'll leave them on, but it just takes a couple minutes to remove them when necessary:

They fold flat and come with bags. The thing I don't like is the poor wiring connection to the running light. They've both broken and needed re-soldering. Using a 4-strand wire in a circumstance that will obviously endure lots of flexing is a bad design. I also carry a brush to clean out the groove in each narrow flare as they accumulate a lot of dirt.

The idea that a metal flare when hit will bend the body sheet metal is a misconception. Some of the cheaper ones may, but the well thought out ones don’t. Do some research, and in particular look for installation videos. That will show how they are attached.

I feel like I'm on a political forum.
Someone telling me what happened to mine didn't happen.
Must be a democrat, lol.

Best looking fender flares? The ones YOU like.

I'm cheap sometimes. I really like modifying the stock plastic flares, mark and cut, trim the inner fender liner and finish the fender with automotive door trim. When wheeling, if I catch one, it usually only breaks the plastic fastener and you get no damage. Then I pull out a bag of plastic fasteners at camp and fix them.
