My 115v power inverter on the front of the center console is not working. When I hit the button to turn it on it briefly lights up then turns off. Doesn’t seem like something that would be a fuse problem. How do I go about diagnosing this with a multimeter? I’ve barely ever used one. Do I just put the prongs in the outlet and see what it reads?

Engine must be on. Nothing plugged in is best. If draw is over 1amp, it will do what you are saying yours does. Also, it stands to reason since it is an FCA sourced part, it may just be dead. Its located under the steering wheel behind the bottom plastic shroud.

I had this happen once when i was inflating air mattresses. single bed drew 0.78amps. No problem. Queen size drew 1.45 amps. Didnt know at the time it was such a low amp inverter. It worked for about 3 seconds, shut off. It auto resets when you turn off the ignition and restart.
