I guess that's why they have a red and a yellow line marker all across the tire. I'll have them installed with the yellow out, so the letters are close to the bead.
The red and yellow dots have a meaning. Red is flattest area, yellow is lightest. Apparently red takes precedence if both are present. The color indicates how and where to mount the tire.

On the Patagonia's there is actually a red and a yellow line that circle the tire...

Yep, between those to line is your road contact patch. IMO this is the reason these tires are so quite.

When new... At about 12,000 miles my contact patch became the entire tread width.

Same. I ran my originals a little lower psi and never had a problem with wear that others had. I’m at 25k miles and they’re still real good on life. Although i heard from 25-30k they go through tread faster than 0-25k

That is my exact experience.

4th MT02 showed up today so now i have all 4 . I'll try to schedule install by Friday after work or Saturday.
In the meantime i took measurements of the MT02's 315/70/17 UNMOUNTED
34.5" until the top of the tire

34" until the shoulder edge

Once i get them mounted will see how much the weight of the Jeep will push them down.

Wow that’s actually spot on to what they said the tire height is. Normally companies are an inch or so off

Typically tires are pretty close to the advertised size when unmounted, once they are mounted they tend to lose size

Not the case for KO2 or Duratracs. Both were under an inch below advertised when un mounted from my experience.
On what size tires?
They've been pretty close to advertised for me. I've had KO2's in 285/70/17 and 315/70/17. Last are advertised at 34.4"
This was my Jeep spare, 10/32 left (14/32" when new), unmounted 315/70/17 KO2, 34 1/8" from the top of the tire

This the Pat MT02's mounted at 37PSI. I drove her like that for about 20 miles, didn't really notice the extra air as i didn't know i had that much :) I just lowered that down to 33psi just know. doubt 3 psi will make any difference in the measurements so here you go

34" from the top of the tire, so the height in this instance is about 1/2" difference.

33.5" from the shoulder edge

From another thread back in 2022. This was the Pat MT I had as a spare in my truck, the one i just moved to my Jeep Spare as of yesterday, and that KO2 was one of them one i had in my Jeep now they're in the truck :) The Pat was at 13/32 in this picture compared to this KO2 that was at 14/32 , both on 17x9 wheels. Both are 315/70/17., the Patagonia only had 6k miles, the KO2 had 5k miles. This is why i hated the Pat MT's. They wore down 1/32 every 1k miles in my truck.

I'll check the Patagonia MT02 thread again at 1k miles, 3k miles and 5k miles
This is the Pat MT02 brand new, 19/32, same as the original Pat MT's
