Upgraded Oil Cooler Assembly worth it?

I've got the P0520 code for the oil pressure sensor on my '12 at 105K mi.
I see that I can swap just the sensor but with all the work and age I figure the entire assembly could just get replaced.
I know they've upgraded the newer style a few times, making the plastic thicker etc.

Is this the best way to go as opposed to getting the '12 version?

I've already added the fix it kit for the bypass valve that cracked. Thinking it'd be best to just go tot he newer version, with the newest style part. With a careful install I'm hoping to do it once and do it the best way.

Good video. Now I need to go look at which one the dealer installed on my 2013. It likely was the older version since it was a warranty repair.

I like his videos, I just didn't see him address whether one was "actually better" than the other. He's not doing long term tests or tracking the failures. It would seem like the original '14 wouldn't be good since they fail from the factory, and the fact they modified the assembly over time sounds promising.
I'm 80% sure I'll go with the newer replacement, barring any installation issues (which is why I think some of the replacements quickly fail).

Hoping to hear from others who upgraded and haven't had to worry about it any more.

Dealer just changed the driver side head and now it's just a chain of smaller issues that the dealer says are unrelated but they had to "get touched" in the job. I see both sides of the argument but... chrysler...

there have been several updates on the 14 part since it was introduced. I would make sure I got the latest one if i were getting one replaced.

Nope, not required. If I remember right it is a NPT thread which is an effective method all on it's for sealing pipe thread, or in this case the sensor.
