I have watched many videos' showing people removing their knobs by just pulling and twisting. I have tried taking the knob apart and pulling but nothing seems to work. Anyone had any luck removing this shifter knob? I just am trying to replace the bulb for the shift indicator.

Yep you have to pull, maybe wiggle it a bit. It is a pain.

If I recall correctly the transfer case shifter has the chrome piece below the knob like the auto-trans knob. If this is the case you can pop that chrome trim piece off w a screwdriver and remove the knob w a lot less effort.

Yep, what he said ^ . i blogged about it back in 2017 when i had to remove the center console and to do so you have to take the damn knobs off

"Removing the trans shift knob and tcase shift knob was very easy, don't know why there are videos on the net with people using straps to do the job, lol, but i just used a screwdriver to pop the retainers underneath the shift knobs, then pulled them out with both hands, i'll be changing those out later on for something a little more flashy haha.
